Baiduri (Uri) Widanarko completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the Universitas Indonesia in 2000. In 2001, she joined the Department of Occupational Health and Safety at University of Indonesia as a lecturer and also started her Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (Master in Occupational Health and Safety) at Universitas Indonesia.

Since completing her master in 2003, her main interest has been in low back pain and she has worked on a number of applied research projects in the coal mining, oil and gas, as well as manufacture industries. These projects have largely focused on understanding the physical and psychosocial factors as the predictors of musculoskeletal problem.

Uri gained a scholarship and joined the Centre for Ergonomics, Occupational Safety and Health, Massey University, New Zealand, as a PhD student in October 2008. Her PhD project, “Combined effect of physical and psychosocial risk factors for low back pain and its consequences among Indonesian coal mining workers”, won an International Ergonomics Association Triennial KU Smith Student Paper Award for outstanding graduate student research project from in February 2012 in Brazil. She completed her PhD in 2013, and continued her post-doctoral program until 2015.

From 2015 to 2018 she was appointed as Head of Occupational Health and Safety Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia and as expert member in UI Greenmetric (http://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/). Since 2018 until now she holds the position of Head of International Office Universitas Indonesia as well as Chair of ASEAN University Network - ASEAN Credit Transfer System (AUN-ACTS).

Uri has published several journal articles in international journals in ergonomics area, including Applied Ergonomics, Ergonomics, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, and other health related journals. She is also a reviewer for international journals in ergonomics area. She also attended various conferences in ergonomics, sustainability and international credit transfer system areas.
