Lahir di Jakarta pada 20 April 1960,Dr Myrna Ariati adalah seorang associate professor di Teknik Metalurgi dan Material Universitas Indonesia, yang ia bergabung pada tahun 1987. Ia memperoleh gelar pertamanya di Teknik Metalurgi dan Material Universitas Indonesia (1985), masternya dari Material Science Universitas Indonesia (1992) dan PhD-nya dari Teknik Metalurgi dan Material dalam universitas yang sama (2010). Disertasinya berjudul "Kinetika Pertumbuhan Butir Austenit dalam Proses Pendinginan Berlanjut pada Baja HSLA-Nb selama Hot Roll", dengan penekanan khusus pada kondisi non-isotermal dalam industri. Karena keahliannya, ia sering berkontribusi untuk penelitian dan pengembangan di industri manufaktur.
Bidang kepakarannya adalah Heat and Surface Treatment serta menaruh minat pada penelitian dalam bidang Themo Mechanical Controll Process . Saat ini menjabat sebagai Kepala Laboratorium Metalografi dan Perlakuan Panas Departemen Metalurgi dan Material FTUI.

Dr Myrna Ariati is an associate professor in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Universitas Indonesia, which she joined in 1987. She obtained her first degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Universitas Indonesia (1985), her master from Materials Science Universitas Indonesia (1992) and her PhD from Metallurgical and Materials Engineering within the same university (2010). Her dissertations was entitled “ Kinetics of Austenite Grain Growth in Continued Cooling Process on HSLA-Nb Steel during Hot Roll” , with specific emphasis on non-isothermal condition in industry. Her research interest are Heat & Surface Treatment and also Thermo-mechanical Control Process. Due to her expertise, she frequently contributes for research and development in manufacturing industries.
She is currently assigned as Head of Metallography & Heat Treatment Laboratory.
