Born in Surabaya, Wisnu Jatmiko received his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from The Faculty of Engineering and M.Sc. degree from The Faculty of Computer Science, both are received from Universitas Indonesia in 1997 and 2000 respectively.In 2007, he received his Dr. Eng. degree from The Micro-Nano Systems Engineering, Nagoya University, Japan. Currently, he works at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Indonesia, Indonesia as a lecturer and from September 2017 become a full Professor. With his guidance, his students have succeeded in entering several top universities in the world, such as Tokyo University, Nagoya University, Edinburgh University, Minnesota University, National University of Singapore, etc. From 2008, he holds the research manager position at the Faculty of Computer Science for 2 periods.

Prof. Wisnu Jatmiko is regarded as a highly productive researcher. He has received over 25 grants as the main researcher. He has also more than 100 international publications that are mostly indexed in Scopus and Google Scholar. In addition, he has already published more than 10 books and produced 8 copyrights of computer software from his research products.

For almost every year since 2008, he has received several research awards from Universitas Indonesia. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, his direction for the Faculty of Computer Science team in the National Student Competition for Information Technology leads the team to achieve gold in the Intelligent Systems category for 3 years in a row. In 2007, he received an award from the Indonesian Toray Science Foundation (ITSF) as a "Science & Technology Research Grant" and was also selected as the best presenter in ITSF 2007. Wisnu also received best paper awards in several conferences, including Best Student Paper Finalist in IEEE sensors, United States in 2005, Best Paper Award in IEEE International Symposium on Micro Nano Mechatronics and Human Science, Japaln in 2009, and Best Paper Finalist in International Symposium on Robotics and Intelligent Sensors, Japan in 2010. In 2014, he received the Widyasilpawijana award, which makes him the research ambassador for Indonesia by the Ministry of Research and Technology, Indonesia.

In the same year, he also received the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) for the Research and Development category. 2015 marks an important year for Wisnu with 2 of his research included in 107 prospective innovations of Indonesia. He also received the Habibie Award in the engineering category. Wisnu is also included in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2016 – 33rd Edition.

In addition to his research activities, Wisnu also manages the International Conference on Advanced Computer Science and Information Systems since 2009-present. The conference has been indexed by Scopus since 2011. Starting from 2016, Wisnu also manages a conference called International Workshop on Big Data and Information Security (IWBIS). Wisnu also manages the Journal of Computer Science.
