B. Short Bio
__Farid has been working at the Department of Law, Society, and Development at the Faculty of Law University of Indonesia since 2011. During the period from 2010 to 2014, He has worked for two research institutions that were frequently worked with private entities, transnational development agencies, the People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Justices of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia; as well as involved in the USAID projects and worked as the consultant for the German Development Agency.
__Up to 2016, He has worked as the analyst for the National Development Planning Agency. One of his main tasks at the Agency is running the regulatory reform (simplification) or deregulation program & conducting a legal review of various infrastructure projects, such as the National Integrated Coastal Development, Indonesia's first high-speed rail project, as well as the general implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia. Currently, besides his academic activities, he is working as an independent consultant on regulatory governance, legislative drafting, ex-post evaluation of regulations, and various urban development projects for the central/local government. Since 2019, he has been appointed by the National Development Planning Agency as the regulation and institutional expert in the Capital City Relocation Program, a national mega-project that relocates Indonesia's capital city from Jakarta to East Kalimantan.
__He received a master of science degree in sociology (specialization on economic sociology) — with a thesis on the social and institutional context of information technology startup companies — and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Indonesia.
