Yu Un Oppusunggu adalah anggota Bidang Studi Hukum Internasional Fakultas Hukum Universitas Indonesia. Di program sarjana ia mengajar Hukum Antar Tata Hukum, Hukum Perdata Internasional, Transaksi Bisnis Internasional, Konvensi-konvensi Hukum Perdata Internasional, dan Kapita Selekta Hukum Perdata Internasional. Di program magister ia mengajar GATT 1944, Hukum tentang Perdagangan Jasa, Hukum Perdagangan Multilateral dan Regional, Hukum Jual Beli Internasional, dan Kontrak Perdagangan Internasional. Ia juga mengajar "Introductory Business Law” di program "international undergraduate class" di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis.

Ia menimba ilmu hukum di Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Leiden, dan Universitas Washington, Seattle.

Ia pernah menjadi visiting fellow di Asian Law Institute (ASLI), Fakultas Hukum Universitas Nasional Singapura, dan penerima beasiswa Fulbright. Pada tahun 2009 ia menerima penghargaan dosen terbaik versi Evaluasi Dosen oleh Mahasiswa (EDOM).

Di bawah koordinasi Badan Pembinaan Hukum Nasional, bersama sejumlah sarjana, ia menjadi anggota perumus naskah akademis Rancangan Undang-Undang Hukum Perdata Internasional. Saat ini ia adalah anggota dari "Commission on Asian Principles of Private International Law" (CAPPIL) yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengompilas prinsip-prinsip hukum perdata internasional di negara-negara Cina, Filipina, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jepang, Korea Selatan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapura, dan Vietnam.

Sebagian dari tulisannya yang telah dipublikasikan adalah “Gautama, Sudargo”, Leo Suryadinata (ed.), Southeast Asian Personalities of Chinese Descent: A Biographical Dictionary (2012); dan “Indonesia”, bersama Gary F. Bell, Jurgen Basedow et al (eds.), Encyclopedia of Private International Law (2016).

Yu Un Oppusunggu is a member of the International Law Division of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Indonesia. In the undergraduate program he teaches, Interlegal Law, Private International Law, International Business Transaction, Conventions of Private International Law, and Capita Selecta on Private International Law. In the master program he teaches GATT 1994, Law on Trade in Services, Multilateral and Regional Trade Law, International Sales Law, and Contract on International Trade. He also teaches Introductory Business Law in the International Undergraduate Class at the Faculty of Economics and Business.

He studied law in Universitas Indonesia, Leiden University, and the University of Washington, Seattle.

He was a visiting fellow in the Asian Law Institute (ASLI) at the National University of Singapore, and a Fulbright grantee. In 2009 he received Best Lecturer Award based on students’ evaluation.

Under the auspices of the National Law Development Agency, he teamed up with selected scholars to prepare an academic draft for the Private International Law Bill. Currently he is a member of the Commission on Asian Principles of Private International Law (CAPPIL) that aims to identify and compile principles of private international law in countries such as China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam.
