TOTOK SUHARDIJANTO obtained a bachelor degree in Indonesian Studies from Universitas Indonesia in 1993. He received a master degree in linguistics from Universitas Indonesia in 2000 and a PhD in Media and Governance from Keio University in 2012. He has been a visiting lecturer at Faculty of Policy Management, Keio University, Japan from 2002 to 2008. During his study at the graduate school in Keio University, he also have been working for Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan as a part-time lecturer and at Faculty of Bioresources, Nihon University, Japan from 2008 to 2012. In 2012, after graduation, he returned to home university in Indonesia. He is now working for Department of Linguistics, University of Indonesia, Jakarta as a senior lecturer. From 2013 to 2015, he was also working for Google APAC, as a project manager and led the Indonesian speech team in voice search development in Bahasa Indonesia. His research interest are in the area of computational linguistics, natural language processing, and digital humanities, as well as many areas of linguistics including morphosyntax, phonetics, and historical linguistics. Currently he is working with Language Development and Fostering Agency, Ministry of National Education in a national-scale project of language mapping and language database building.
