Pada tahun 1993 menjadi mahasiswa di Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Indonesia (FEUI) hingga memperoleh gelar Sarjana Ekonomi (S.E.) di bidang Manajemen dengan konsentrasi Pemasaran pada tahun 1999. Setelah lulus kuliah, ia langsung bekerja di PT. Danareksa Investment Management selama dua tahun di bagian Institutional Business Development.

Kemudian ia melanjutkan studi dengan mengambil program Master of International Affairs (MIA) di School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, New York, Amerika Serikat dan menyelesaikannya pada tahun 2003. Setelah itu ia bekerja dii Executive Director for Southeast Asia Office,  International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington, D.C., Amerika Serikat selama satu tahun hingga tahun 2005.

Kembali ke Indonesia kemudian ia  bekeirja sebagai Governance Consultant di the World Bank Office Jakarta karena tertarik pada isu-isu pembangunan terutama kaitannya dengan Governance Reform dan inisiatif anti-korupsi.
 
Kemudian pada bulan Oktober 2008 mengambil post graduate program di bidang Diplomatic Studies di Trinity College dan Queens Elizabeth House (QEH), Oxford University, Inggris. Selain itu juga ia bekerja sebagai Research Associate untuk Good Governance di Universitas Paramadina. 
 
Setelah menyelesaikan studi di Inggris, semenjak bulan Agustus 2009 ia kembali ke alma mater-nya serta menjadi Kepala Kantor Komunikasi di Universitas Indonesia. Selain itu juga dalam waktu bersamaan menjadi Dosen di Departemen Kriminologi dan Hubungan International, Fakultas Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP UI). Kemudian sejak Oktober 2009 telah diangkat sebagai Dosen tetap di Departemen Ilmu Administrasi FISIP UI untuk program studi Administrasi Negara.
 
Setelah dua tahun bekerja di Universitas Indonesia ia memperoleh  beasiswa dari Jardine Foundation untuk melanjutkan studi pada program Ph.D untuk bidang Sejarah Internasional di London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), London, Inggris. Karena hal tersebut ia mengundurkan diri sebagai Kepala Kantor Komunikasi per November 2011. Riset Doktoral yang sedang dilakukan di LSE adalah mengenai sejarah reformasi sektor publik pasca reformasi dan inisiatif anti korupsi untuk periode 1999 - 2009 di Indonesia. 
 
Ia telah menulis sejumlah artikel di beberapa harian terkemuka di Indonesia seperti: Kompas, Seputar Indonesia, Media Indonesia, Suara Pembaruan, Sinar Harapan, Koran Kontan dan Koran Tempo. Bersama dengan David G. Timberman dan Soren Davidsen menulis buku berjudul “Curbing Corruption in Indonesia, 2004-2006: A Survey of National Approaches” yang diterbitkan oleh USINDO dan CSIS pada tahun 2006.
 
Selain itu bersama dengan Sebastian Eckardt menulis sebuab bab dengan judul “Budget Accountability and Legislative Oversight in Transition: The Case of Post-Soeharto Indonesia” di sebuah publikasi berjudul “Legislative Oversight and Budgeting: a World Perspectivedengan editor Rick Stapenhurst dan kawan-kawan yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2008.

He earned his Bachelors Degree (Sarjana Ekonomi) from school of Economics, Universitas Indonesia (FEUI) in 1999. After graduated, he joined P.T. Danareksa Investment Management and was working in Institutional Business Development Division for two years.
 
He got Master of International Affairs (M.I.A.) degree in 2003 with concentration in International Finance and Business from School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, New York. He had his initial international relations practical experience for one year when he was working in International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the Executive Director of Southeast Asia Office in Washington D.C. started in early 2004.
 
In 2005 he went back to Indonesia and joined the World Bank Office Jakarta as Governance Consultant for three years. On October 2008 he pursued  post-graduate program in Diplomatic Studies at Queen Elizabeth House (QEH) and Trinity College, Oxford University, the United Kingdom. At the same time he was also involved as Research Associate on Good Governance at Paramadina University, Jakarta.
 
He went back to his alma mater on August 2009 was appointed as the Head of Communications at University of Indonesia (U.I.). Within the same university, he has also been a lecturer in Department of Criminology and Department of International Relations in Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP U.I.). Furthermore, since 2009 he become the full-time lecturer in Public Administration at Administration Science Department in Faculty of Social and Political Science, University of Indonesia (FISIP UI).
 
He got a scholarship to pursue Ph.D program in International History at London School of Economics (LSE), the United Kingdom, from Jardine Foundation and therefore he resigned from the Head of Communication post at University of Indonesia on November 2011. Currently,  he is writing his doctoral research on the history of anti corruption initiatitve and public sector reform in Indonesia during post-Soeharto era in 1999 - 2009. 
 
He has written a numerous articles that were published in various leading national newspapers like: Kompas Daily, Seputar Indonesia, Media Indonesia, Suara Pembaruan, Sinar Harapan, Koran Kontan, Koran Tempo. With Soren Davidsen and David G. Timberman he co-authored a book entitled “Curbing Corruption in Indonesia, 2004-2006: A Survey of National Approaches” which was co-published by USINDO and CSIS Jakarta in 2006.
 
He also co-author with Sebastian Eckardt a chapter called “Budget Accountability and Legislative Oversight in Transition: The Case of Post-Soeharto Indonesia” in the World Bank Institute’s publication Legislative Oversight and Budgeting: a World Perspective, edited by Rick Stapenhurst and Co. that was published in 2008.
