Hadi Rahmat Purnama is a Lecturer at Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia for since 2003. He teaches at International Law Department in several courses such as Public International Law, Air and Space Law, General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT 1994), Law and Human Rights, International Trade Dispute Settlement and Law of the Seas. He previously worked as Trade Lawyer for Indonesia Trade Assistance Project (ITAP) under the auspices of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which covers a range of trade law matters including Dispute Settlement, Trade Remedies, Free Trade Agreement and Domestic Trade Issues which related to World Trade Organization (WTO). As a lecturer for Law and Human Rights, he gave various training on International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights to Police, Judges, Attorney and Prison Guard.
Mr. Purnama was educated in both Indonesia and United States of America. He received his undergraduate degree in law (Sarjana Hukum) from the Faculty of Law, Univeristy of Indonesia in 2002 and earned his Master of Law (LL.M) degree from Washington College of Law, American University at Washington, D.C., in 2004 by obtaining Scholarship from USAID. He was trained on International Trade Law, such as WTO Law, WTO on Trade in Services & Regional Agreements on Trade in Services, WTO & Multilateral Trading System. He also trained on International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law, such as Implementation Humanitarian Law in War on the Seas, International Criminal Court and Human Rights for Law Enforcement. He has conducted several researches not only in International Trade Law and International Human Rights. He conducted a research on International Trade Law in the WTO, Geneva and European Union Headquarters, Brussels, in 2007, under auspices of European Union Multilateral Trading System which result a paper on “Special Safeguard Mechanism for Special Product: The Developing Countries’ Challenge” which presented at Seminar in front of EU representatives and Indonesia Ministry of Trade.
