Rosa Diniari was born in Jakarta September 23rd 1953. She gained her bachelor degree from Sociology Department in 1979. She continued her study in Sociology and got her master degree in 1986 from University of Indonesia. Her doctorate degree was gained from Agricultural Institute of Bandung.

She has started her career as a lecturer in University of Indonesia since 1977. She also the former secretary for study on Development in Indonesia, a joining program between Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University of Indonesia and Institute of social Studies The Hague

Besides being a lecturer, Rosa Dininari also active as a researcher. Her research activity including research about “Dampak Perpindahan Penduduk Perkotaan DKI Jakarta: Studi Kasus di kelurahan Pondok Kelapa, kecamatan Duren Sawit, Jakarta Timur”, Laboratorium Sosiologi, 1993, “Pengembangan Komunitas Kota Yang Partisipatif di Tingkat RW di DKI Jakarta, 1994”, Laboratorium Sosiologi, FISIP-UI, and other researches.

She also joined some training to get more experience like joined the “Small Business Management For Women, Indonesia Australia Specialised Training Project”  in Adelaide, Australia and joined the Short Course :”Teaching and Learning" in 10 days, Center For International Education and Training Adelaide, South Australia
