Dr. der. soz. Rochman Achwan MDS

            Mr. Rochman Achwan in  a lecturer in Departement of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences since 1983. Mr. Rochman Achwan graduated in Sociology from University of Indonesia in 1979. He got his MDS title from Development studies, the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Hague, the Netherlands in 1982. In 1998 he obtained his Dr. der. Soz title from Faculty of Sociology, University of Bielefeld, Germany. And three yers ago, Mr. Rochman Achwan  obtained his Ph. D title from University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Besides his teaching activities in Departement of Sociology, he also conducting some research, for example: International Research on "The Making of Civil Society in Indonesia in Historical and Contemporary Perspectives". A research collaboration between the Dutch universities of Nijmegen, Utrecht and Twente, and LabSosio and university of Satya Wacana, Salatiga in 2001-2004, as Indonesian’s Team Leader. He also participate in some coferences, for example: Read research paper with title “The Reconstruction of Regional Business Networks in Post-Soeharto Indonesia” at International conference, Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands, 9 September 2006, Read research paper with title MICROFINANCE INSTITUTION, SOCIAL CAPITAL AND PEACE BUILDING: EVIDENCE FROM WEST KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA at the 3^rd International Conference on Gross National Happiness in Bangkok and Nongkhai, Thailand, 22-28 November 2007, and Read research paper with title “Political Contestation of Ethnicity and Democratic Movements in Post Authoritarian Indonesia: A Comparative Study in Three Provincial Capitals of Padang, Bandung and Yogyakarta” at Panel 20 “Social Movements, Civil Society and Governance”, the 8^th ASEAN Inter-University Conference (IUC) on Social Development, Manila, Philippines on May 28-31, 2008.
